A Jaguar XJ6 Parts page by David Manners Ltd, the worlds leading independent Jaguar Parts specialist. The Jaguar XJ6 is a luxury saloon produced by Jaguar from 1968.
The Jaguar XJ6 replaced most of Jaguar's saloons of it's day which, in the 1960s, had expanded to four separate ranges. An upmarket version was marketed under the Daimler brand and called the Daimler Sovereign, continuing the name from the Daimler version of the Jaguar 420.
. The XJ6 was introduced in September 1968 in a series of television advertisements featuring Sir William where he referred to the car as "the finest Jaguar ever". The XJ6 "Series II" was launched in 1973. Visually, apart from the longer wheelbase the "Series II" cars are differentiated by a smaller grille. The XJ6 coupé was launched in 1975 and was based on the short wheelbase version of the XJ6. All coupes came with a vinyl roof as standard. In late 1979 the XJ6 was face lifted again, and was known as the "Series III". The long-wheelbase version of the car incorporated a subtle redesign by Pininfarina. |
